Wedding reception ideas

Attendant's roles

Flower Girls (1-2 girls who are 4-8 years of age)

-Walk in front of Bride and scatters petals or holds bouquet.
-Attends pre-wedding parties, shower(s), wedding rehearsals with their family.
-Their family pays the cost of their dress and transportation.
-Sits with family at reception.

Bridesmaids

-Help with wedding plans such as making wedding favors or centerpieces.
-Help host the Bridal Shower and help with the cost.
-Attend any wedding rehearsals and pre-wedding parties
-Pay for their own dresses and for transportation to the Wedding and Events

Maid of Honor (Single) and/or Matron of Honor (Married)

-Hosts the Bridal Shower.
-Attends wedding rehearsals and pre-wedding parties.
-Helps with pre-wedding plans, decorations, and possibly addressing invitations.
-Pays for her own dress and any other clothing expenses.
-Helps the Bride with dressing and other preparations on the Wedding Day.
-Holds train and/or veil of wedding dress.
-Holds Bride’s bouquet during ceremony.
-Keeps track of the Groom’s Ring.
-Needs to be prepared for fixing any emergencies concerning the bride on the Wedding Day (band-aids, safety pins, etc.).

Groomsmen/Usher

-Help plan the bachelor party and help with the cost.
-Attend pre-wedding parties and wedding rehearsals.
-Pay for their tuxes or other clothing.
-Seat Guests and distribute the program or any hand-outs.
-Dance with Bridesmaids.

Best Man (Single or Married)

-Hosts and plans the Bachelor Party.
-Attends wedding rehearsals and pre-wedding parties.
-Pays for his tux rental or other clothing.
-Takes the Groom to the Wedding Ceremony.
-Assists Groom in dressing
-Keeps track of the Bride’s Ring.
-Oversees the ushers at the wedding.
-Dances with the Bride and Maid of Honor if there is a dance.
-In charge of toasting at the reception.
-In charge of keeping the Groom intact and keeping track of Groom’s belongings.
